Oscars not moving earlier in 2012

The Oscars are not moving up to an earlier date in 2012, according to the Hollywood Reporter. There was a discussion of moving them to late January or early February in 2012, but that’s been shot down. The possibility still remains for future years, though. (Ironically, in future years the biggest logistical problem — running into the NFL playoffs — will still be there. There’s still a chance the NFL doesn’t play the 2011 season due to a labor stoppage, leaving early 2012 wide open for the Oscars.)
