Disney confirms it: First female Pixar director sent the way of “Newt” (i.e. axed)

Disney confirmed it: Brenda Chapman, who would have been Pixar’s first female director, has been removed from “Brave.” The 2012 film will have to make do with just featuring Pixar’s first female lead, rather than also having its first female director. So Pixar will go at least 14 straight films without a female director. Sigh. [Earlier]
