“We Will All Fry”

The New Yorker has posted previously unseen notes from meetings held during the Cuban Missile Crisis. These notes provide a real-time documentation of the decision-making process during the situation. Some of these meetings were recorded, but others had little or no other documentation, writes Nicholas Thompson (the notes belonged to his grandfather, Paul Nitze, a Defense Department official at the time).
