You always seem to leave Big Fish out of your Tim Burton hate-rants. Somewhere in between the awful Planet of the Apes and the meh Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Burton created something truly fresh and beautiful and decidedly non-Burtonesque (the lack of Johnny Depp no doubt helped). I thought Big Fish was fantastic. And John August — who also penned CATCF, Corpse Bride, Dark Shadows and the latest Frankenweenie — adapted this one as well. Admittedly 2003's Fish was nearly a decade ago, but I think it's indicative of the juice Burton still has left in him, when he's not developing indulgent or of-course-Tim-Burton's-making-that flicks.
